Doc D – Old-School Bitmap/Pixel Font
A downloadable asset pack
A hand-made bitmap font from 1993, repackaged as ready-to-use PNG tilesets for your games, tools and UIs. Crisp, tiny, and unmistakably old-school – it comes in two flavors:
- DOCD – monospaced, 6×13px
- DOCDP – proportional, 2–11px wide, 13px tall
Both cover the full ASCII + Windows Latin-1 range (code points 32–255), so accented letters, currency symbols and punctuation are all there out of the box.
What’s Inside
- PNG tilesets – 16×16 grid indexed by code point (tile index = character code), white glyphs on a transparent background, pixel-perfect 1×. Tint to any color in-engine.
- BMFont/AngelCode .fnt descriptors – drop straight into LÖVE, libGDX, Phaser, Pixi.js, MonoGame, Cocos2d and more. Proportional spacing just works.
- Plain-text width tables – if you’d rather roll your own renderer.
- Demo sheets – lorem ipsum typeset in both styles.
- Source .FON files + conversion scripts – re-bake at any scale you like.
Specs
- DOCD: 96×208px sheet, 6×13 cells
- DOCDP: 176×208px sheet, 11×13 cells
- 224 glyphs each (code points 32–255)
- 1-bit, white-on-transparent PNG – scale up with nearest-neighbour for that sharp pixel look
